Senior League

What a way to kick off the new season! Week 1 delivered some fantastic contests as teams looked to make an early statement in the race for the title. πŸ€

Defending champions NICS Bowling Club were pushed all the way by Mossley Outdoor Bowling Club in a thrilling encounter. With NICS leading on two rinks, Mossley nearly snatched the overall result thanks to a superb performance from the rink skipped by Heather Kelly, but the champions edged it 49–48.

Ulster Transport Bowling Club laid down a huge marker with a 6-point victory over CI Knock Bowling Club. A massive +60 shot difference sees them shoot straight to the top of the table after an impressive opening display.

Last season’s runners-up Larne Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club also made a strong start, recording a 6-point win over Falls Bowling Club as they look to go one better this year.

Meanwhile, ewarts bowling club who finished third last season, picked up right where they left off with a 5-point win against Pickie. They came close to claiming the full 6 points, but a battling performance from the rink skipped by Jill Owens earned Pickie a well-deserved point.

Junior 1 League

After two weeks of action, the table is already starting to take shape with some standout performances across the division πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ€

CI Knock Bowling Club lead the way at the top after making it two wins from two, collecting the maximum 10 points and building an impressive +33 shot difference.

Close behind are Hilden Bowling Club who also remain unbeaten with two victories from two and continue to look like serious contenders early in the season.

Falls edged a close game at home to Ballywalter by 3 shots to get their first points of the season.

Defending champions Comber picked up an important win against UTBC to get their campaign moving.

Magheradroll claimed their first win with a strong 23 - 11 performance by Ann-Marie McGreevy's rink.

Belfast and Ballywalter sit level on 6 points after mixed starts, while Ulster Transport J1 remain firmly in the hunt with 5.5 points and a strong shot difference.

At the other end, Larne J1 and Downpatrick will both be eager to bounce back and get points on the board in the coming fixtures.

Still plenty of bowls left to play, but the race for the title is already heating up πŸ”₯πŸ€

Junior 2 League

Two weeks in and the promotion race is already heating up in Division 2 πŸ€πŸ”₯

Ards currently sit top of the table after making it back-to-back wins, edging ahead on rink points after a strong start to the campaign.

Close behind are Malone, who also remain unbeaten and look to be serious contenders after another impressive performance this week.

Despite sitting third, Shaftesbury Bowls Club Belfast boast the division’s best shot difference so far with an incredible +40, showing just how competitive things are becoming at the top.

Pickie recorded their first win away at Belmont, who have now lost both opening games.

Pickie J1, Saintfield Bowling Club, and Ulster Transport J2 are all firmly in the mix as the table begins to take shape, while Belmont, Falls J2, and Cavehill will be hoping to climb the standings in the weeks ahead.
